Have you ever been booed? Do you even know what it means? If you’re the slightest bit curious then you must read on to learn about this fun Halloween activity! It’s one that you will want to try!
It’s a tradition that mainly started in neighborhoods where you leave a basket or plate of goodies with a note that says “You’ve been booed!” Attached are instructions on how to place the “Boo” sign in your front window (this allows your neighbors to see that you’ve already been booed) and to make up your own basket or plate of goodies along with a copy of the sign. You then secretly deliver to neighbors who haven’t been booed yet. Sound fun??? When I first heard about this tradition, I thought it was a fantastic and fun activity that the whole family could enjoy! I knew that it was something I definitely wanted to start with my kiddos but we just recently moved out to the country, where our neighbors were few and far between. So I changed it up a bit and created my own little version. It’s similar to the traditional “You’ve Been Booed” activity, it just doesn’t require that you “Boo it forward” so to speak.
Below is my version of the “You’ve Been Booed”! This will be our first year that we participate, since they are old enough to understand the activity (they are 2 and 4) and it’s a great way to show them the importance of giving to others.
I used my scrapbooking supplies to embellish the “You’ve Been Booed” poem! I printed the poem from my computer and then layered it with festive Halloween pattern papers. I even decorated the disposable foil tin with coordinating pattern paper where I have included homemade cookies & candy inside. The kiddos had fun helping me bake and picking out the fun patterns of paper. We are going to deliver our goodies when it gets dark to our unsuspecting neighbors! I can’t wait!!
Supplies used:

If you would like to order your own “Boo Kits”, I would be happy to put one together for you, just leave a comment and I will be in touch! And for those that want to make your own, I’ve created a PDF file of the poem so you can print it off and create your own! Have fun! Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Creating~ Nanci
