Halloween is less than a week away but don’t worry there is still plenty of time to create these fun and easy treat bags! Don’t stress, they are super easy to make. All you need is a few supplies, yummy treats and the trick or treater’s will come running.
One of my favorite treat bags to fill is the ice cream cone-shaped bag. It’s fun to fill with all sorts of treats for different holidays. For Halloween I like to fill them with candy corn, the shape of the candy fits nicely in the bag and displays beautifully. Just add your candy, tie with ribbon and add a tag. I’ve used stickers from the Happy Haunting collection by Simple Stories to create my tags with. I’ve also added some baker’s twine & scrapper’s floss to make them extra cute. And to add to that extra spookiness, I’ve embellished each treat bag with spider rings to each tag by piercing a tiny hole big enough for the spider ring to slip through.
Another fun little treat bag idea that is fun to make is using a regular 4x 8 clear bag, along with a paper cupcake baking cup. As you can see I have filled the baking cup up with chocolate kisses, a few spider rings and I have tied it up all cute with ribbon, baker’s twine and scrapper’s floss. And don’t forget to add the tag…(which by the way is the cutest saying ever) ‘Bugs and kisses’!!! I actually found the saying on Pinterest and just tweaked the idea to make it my own. When I made the tag I just typed up the title on my computer using Word and then printed them out on white cardstock. After that I used a 2″ circle paper punch to cut out each title. Then I used a 2 1/2″ scalloped paper punch and cut out the black circles. Next I glued the white circles to the center of the black circles, pierced a hole on the left side to tie my tag on and pierced a hole on the right side and added my spider ring. It makes up another super cute treat bag to hand out to little trick or treater’s or for school parties, teacher’s, co-workers you name it! They are simple, fast, easy, yet so stickin cute!! Everyone will not only enjoy the treats but will also have fun scaring everyone with the spooky spider rings!!!
One last treat bag idea I have for you today is using a long skinny treat bag that is actually designed for packaging pretzel sticks but I have found another use for them and that is creating a s’mores treat! This treat bag has everything included to make your very own s’more! I found marshmallow ghost Peeps!! How adorable are these little guys?!?! Now eating them by themselves…hmmmm not so great but add some chocolate and a graham cracker and you are talkin’ delicious! BooYa!! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!! Yummy yum! Now with these treat bags I just used some leftover pattern paper that I had from the Happy Haunting collection by Simple Stories and created a few different tags. They again, were super cute wrapped up in ribbon, baker’s twine and scrapper’s floss.
Well I hope I have inspired you to create some fun treats this year for your trick or treater’s! I’m sure they will love whatever you come up with. Just remember to always have fun and don’t stress. I have made special treats for my kids over the years and they always love what I do for them to make their holiday just a bit more special and memorable. It’s the memories that you are creating with them that counts! Now go get busy and create some spooktacular memories!!
Happy Creating, Nanci
